It works in text mode and provides a simple and intuitive interface to perform most of the necessary actions: view files and directories, edit, copy, rename files and many other actions. It has a multi-language interface, easily configurable.
Far Manager functionality is greatly extended through external DLL modules: plug-ins (enabled by a special set of interfaces: the plug-in API). For example: file support, FTP client, temporary panel and network browser are implemented as add-ons included in the Far standard distribution.
Add-in modules and commands: the default add-in set includes the file management plug-in, the FTP client, the web browser, the print manager and the temporary panel, but you can write your own add-ons;
